Remodeling your Kitchen on a Budget; Tips and Ideas

So you want to update your kitchen but are afraid of breaking the bank? Take a look at these tips and help make your kitchen remodel stay within your budget.

      •         Take a look in magazines, books, tv shows and find out what
      •         your style  should be.
      •         Set a budget! Know what upgrades will give you the most
      •         value for your
      •         money and do your best to stick with your budget.
      •         Don’t over work yourself! If you are doing it by yourself, be
      •         sure to make a plan to do one project at a time.

Where do you start?

Cabinets
Why get brand new cabinets if you don’t need to? Try staining or painting your existing cabinets, add new hardware after a new paint job and it will make your kitchen take on a whole new look without breaking the bank!

Kitchen Counter Tops
Counter tops can be expensive if you’re going for granite, but that’s not your only option. You can opt for concrete or granite overlay. Do your research to find what suits your budget and style best.

Kitchen Floors
Your choices for floors are endless and not all of your options are as pricey as you may think. From peel-in-stick floors to laminate, your options can range in price. New floors in your kitchen can change it from being drab to fantastic!

Saving Money on Kitchen Appliances
If you have old dingy looking appliances and want to give them a fresh new look, have them professionally painted. Let’s face it new appliances are pricey and if the only problem with your current appliances is the look then painting them is the way to go.

Kitchen Lightening
Installing modern lighting is amazingly simple if your kitchen is already wired for overhead lighting. A new chandelier can make a big difference, and you can find options for less than $150! To make an even bigger impact, be sure to install a dimmer switch. You’ll be surprised what a difference a little “mood switch” can make.
