Halloween Party Decorating Ideas
Halloween is right around the corner and with it comes parties and events. If you are planning a special Halloween party and you want your guest to feel festive and remember the event here are a few ideas to help make your party one that will keep everyone talking.
Halloween Entrance
Make your front door season appropriate. Add fall colors such as brown and orange. Frame the door with corn husks and garlands of oak. Make it a family project and have the children help carve pumpkins to place at the entrance.
Make your Outdoors a Halloween Wonderland
Hopefully by October the weather will start cooling down and we will be able to finally enjoy the outdoors here in Texas! Host your party outside and wherever you place the table make it as festive as you can get it. Add garlands, ribbons, and orange flowers. Make your space pretty enough to be in a picture frame.
Create a Festive Pumpkin Greeting
Spell out your greeting in mini pumpkins. Stencil letters out on the pumpkin. Then, using a drill with a half-inch bit, bore holes to form each letter. String Christmas-tree lights and gather in small bunches, illuminate each pumpkin (unscrew bulbs where the string descends to the next row).
Festive Dessert Idea
Halloween is a great time to make your desserts holiday appropriate. One great idea is candy apples with special Halloween decorations. For the dessert table decorations; Tuck candles and small pumpkins inside glass cylinders or canning jars
Spooky Tree
Bare limbed trees are the perfect perch for jack-o-lanterns, candle lanterns, and even a flock of faux black crows. Be sure to make sure the tree limbs are sturdy enough to support the weight of the decorations.
Vintage Halloween Postcards
Festive antique cards bring vintage fun to a party. Color photocopy vintage cards to create invitations to your dinner party or serve as place cards. Postcards with recipes from your menu written on the back make thoughtful mementos.
As with any personal decorating at any time of the year, keep it to a minimum. You want the buyer to be able to picture their decorations in your home. After a festive party be sure to take down anything that may offend your buyers. Remember sometimes children are present when viewing your home.
