Deep in the Heart of Texas! Come visit Texas!
If by chance you are planning to visit Texas this summer I’ve made a list of the top ten places to visit. Texas is a great place to visit. By much surprise to many, we don’t all ride horses and rope cattle. Texas has a wide array of unique residents. Now don’t get me wrong there have been days where I have been driving in a rural area and I have to pass a tractor or two.
I am proud to call Texas my home! Leaving Texas can be a bit tricky as in some places it may take a few hours to get out of the state but other places it may take 14 or more hours to get out. In other words everything REALLY is BIGGER in Texas! One city can be completely flat and another with rolling hills and beautiful rivers. The abundant rivers, lakes and bays in Texas will have you feeling you are in a new state every few hours.
In Dallas, Texas there is an array of things to do and see. I’m sure when someone hears the word “Dallas” they may automatically picture the long hit television series but when visiting you will soon be mistaken. Dallas has some very fun and exciting things to do and visit. For instance, Six Flags over Arlington is a great place to take the whole family. You can spend an entire day living up thrills on the many amusement park rides. While in Dallas don’t pass up seeing the Fort Worth Stock Yards. Now this will take you back to what life was like in Texas many, many years ago. This is the way some people picture Texas now a days. If sports takes you to your vacation destination well Dallas is the place to be. Rangers Stadium and the new Cowboys Stadium are places you MUST see!
San Antonio is a great place to visit. Here you will find a lovely Riverwalk just down the road from The Alamo. Fiesta Texas is the perfect place to enjoy a family trip with excitement included. Don’t forget SeaWorld in San Antonio as well. Just a short drive from San Antonio many people love floating the river in New Bransfels. You can also visit Schlitterbaun to cool you down from the hot Texas sun.
If the ocean is what you are looking for you can choose from Galveston, Island just 40 minutes from Houston, South Padre Island or Port Aransas. Each place has long beaches, lots of sand and you are sure to catch some rays.
Here in Clear Lake, if you have never seen or visited Johnson Space Center be sure to check it out! With Houston being a short distance away, you will find many exciting things to do and see. Take the kiddos to The Children’s Museum of Houston, The Houston Zoo, Splash Town Water park, Moody Gardens in Galveston and much more.
